B-PLUS AUTOMOTIVE GMBH – ACCELERATING THE ROAD TO AUTONOMY

B-Plus-Automotive

b-plus Group is an automotive engineering company based in Southern Germany that develops hardware and software solutions for autonomous and automated driving. b-plus specializes in accelerating development cycles and bringing innovative technologies safely into production and onto the road. Their objective is to develop technologies and processes that will facilitate the operation of self-driving vehicles. As part of this effort, they launched the project “Connected Car – Solutions from Sensor to Cloud” to collect and process data through sensors to make the processing more accessible and support the user when generating and analyzing data.

Challenges

One of the significant challenges faced by b-plus was developing a secure and easily accessible platform for collecting, recording, and analyzing data from different devices. With the emergence of self-driving vehicles, data analytics has become essential to the automotive industry. b-plus needed a reliable partner who could develop an infrastructure that would ensure data security, high availability, and integrity throughout the development cycle.

Solution

To help b-plus achieve their goal, DIS/CREADIS was selected to support the company's initiative to streamline the collection and processing of data from self-driving vehicles. As a Scrum Master, DIS/CREADIS was involved in the planning and organization of the tasks and developed a cloud-backend infrastructure based on data collection. The infrastructure ensured security, high availability, and integrity for b-plus throughout the development cycle.

Benefits

DIS/CREADIS wrote clean and clear code that was expandable and complied with all standards. This meant that b-plus could rely on the software to make future-proof decisions based on the knowledge gained from live data analysis. The reliable infrastructure also supported additional new products that would fit into b-plus’s planned production. As a result, the software implemented by DIS/CREADIS would be used in other development processes.

Why DIS/CREADIS

DIS/CREADIS was the perfect partner for b-plus because of their expertise in programming a secure and easily accessible platform to collect, record, and analyze data from different devices. They were able to execute quickly and efficiently on the software development objectives. Markus Obermaier, Team Lead at Connected Car at b-plus, remarked on the partnership, “From the very beginning, communication and cooperation with DIS/CREADIS has been straightforward and professional. With the in-house support we have quickly achieved important synergies and new ideas, which brings us further towards our goals.”

SKY-LIGHT – NEW FLEXIBLE ROBOTIC PACKAGING PRODUCTION MACHINE DELIVERES INCREASED SAFETY FOR NEW PLANT

SKY-LIGHT, a film and packaging manufacturer, has invested in a new production plant that required an efficient and safe packaging system. The previous manual processes were not optimal in terms of the working environment and safety, and the new plant had to be able to handle rolls weighing between 200 kg and 1800 kg (441 lb. to 3968 lb.). This meant that the packaging system needed to be very flexible and capable of adjusting to nine different packing methods. SKY-LIGHT did not have the internal resources to develop this system, and so they contacted DIS/CREADIS to take over the development, construction, design, setup, assembly, and commissioning of the plant.
