DIS’ expansion of electrical engineering competencies in submarine cables has resulted in cooperation between Vattenfall and DIS, where DIS was handpicked to assist in Vattenfall’s cable challenges.

Due to the direct effect submarine cables have on the operating voltage, the installation of the submarine cables between the wind turbines is highly prioritized by Vattenfall.

One of the sometimes underrated parts of offshore wind farms are the submarine cables that connect the offshore transformer platform to the grid connection onshore and between the turbines internally.

Incorporating DIS’ experience and knowledge into this project provided Vattenfall’s engineers with valuable support within their technology department. The positive collaboration has resulted in DIS continuing to assist Vattenfall to better optimize future offshore wind projects
