VELUX – DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF LIFTING SOLUTION FACILITATES EASIER HANDLING AND INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS

VELUX Group is a leading company in the development, production, and sale of roof windows and skylights. VELUX needed to develop a tool for technicians who install their windows in the German market. The VELUX group presented a problem and several requirements which had to be met for the desired tool.

Challenges

Some of the VELUX roof windows are as large as 1340x1600 mm (52.75x63 in), which can be challenging for an installer to handle. VELUX wanted to provide installers with a practical solution that can help and facilitate their work in the handling and installation of roof windows.

Solution

VELUX chose DIS/CREADIS to assist in the development of the tool for technicians. Throughout the project, DIS/CREADIS deployed several different engineering competencies for the development of the new tool. They produced and supplied 3D and 2D drawings, finite element analysis and analytical calculations, prototypes and the finished product. During the creation of the prototype, VELUX contributed significant knowledge from their years of experience manufacturing and installing windows. The final version of the product was accredited with the German CE certification. DIS/CREADIS was responsible for managing the CE certification process and documentation of the product.

Why DIS/CREADIS

VELUX Group chose DIS/CREADIS for this project because their proven capabilities matched those needed to deliver the new tool. Their ability to understand a task and own it from concept to final product and develop documentation made them a great choice to help VELUX deliver the new tool quickly. DIS/CREADIS has also partnered with VELUX successfully on previous projects.

SKY-LIGHT – NEW FLEXIBLE ROBOTIC PACKAGING PRODUCTION MACHINE DELIVERES INCREASED SAFETY FOR NEW PLANT

SKY-LIGHT, a film and packaging manufacturer, has invested in a new production plant that required an efficient and safe packaging system. The previous manual processes were not optimal in terms of the working environment and safety, and the new plant had to be able to handle rolls weighing between 200 kg and 1800 kg (441 lb. to 3968 lb.). This meant that the packaging system needed to be very flexible and capable of adjusting to nine different packing methods. SKY-LIGHT did not have the internal resources to develop this system, and so they contacted DIS/CREADIS to take over the development, construction, design, setup, assembly, and commissioning of the plant.
