THE DIS/CREADIS PROJECT EXCELLENCE HANDBOOK

DIS/CREADIS has recently launched our own Project Excellence Handbook (PEH) to provide a shared language for starting, managing, and leading successful projects.

So, why did we write the handbook? After all, there are plenty of manuals out there on project management.

The answer is: The PEH is unique. It stands on five hands-on, fundamental pillars of project management. These pillars define how projects are started, managed, and directed at DIS/CREADIS.

PILLAR 1.

A project is an investment of our shareholders resources, and it is an investment for the customers in a change.

Consequently, a successful project means that the project is:

- Valuable for the customer

- A learning, uniting and energizing experience for the team

PILLAR 2.

A project is about PEOPLE collaborating and co-creating, pulling hard in the same direction to achieve common objectives and succeed with the project.

At DIS/CREADIS, we want the best engineers and true craftsmen within project management to collaborate to succeed with the project.

PILLAR 3

It is all about skills. Project management is a craft that requires project management skills that are different from technical skills e.g., within engineering or IT.

Where manuals and handbooks on project management promote a specific framework or methodology, the PEH is focused on promoting project management as a craft that requires fundamental skills, regardless of the framework or methodology applied.

PILLAR 4

Projects fail because they are set up to fail from the start and due to very foreseeable risks and issues that materialize into bigger problems or explode into crisis. We call this “The blood-red failure curve

PILLAR 5
